Klein Tools is recalling nearly 1.7 million non-contact voltage testers due to a shock hazard that has already been cited in an injury. In the recall alert, announced June 9, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that the device’s on/off button can remain depressed during the power-on or power-off cycle, causing the tester to function improperly and resulting in a failure for users testing electrical sources to be warned of the presence of live voltage.
